Why Nixon
The Tablelands
is not the city
Out here the nearest alternative might be a 35 kilometre tow, and a dead machine in the middle of a job costs a lot more than the repair bill. That is the whole reason Chris runs mobile.
Nixon Auto Electrics works out of a workshop at 9 Railway Lane, Atherton, and travels across the Tablelands for the jobs that cannot come to us.
One bloke, one visit
Auto electrical, air conditioning and mechanical, all from the same van. No chasing a sparky and a mechanic separately, and no tow into Mareeba because the job crossed a trade line.
Priced fair, told upfront
You find out what it will cost before the spanners come out. Fair pricing is the single thing customers mention most in our Google reviews, and that is not an accident.
We come to you
Ute in the driveway, truck at the depot, tractor stuck in a paddock. Mobile across the Tablelands, because a machine that cannot move should not cost you the whole day.

Where we work
Atherton
and beyond
Based in Atherton and mobile across the Atherton Tablelands. Most of our work is within half an hour of the workshop, but we regularly run out to Mareeba, Ravenshoe and the farms out west. If you are further out than that, give us a call anyway and we will tell you straight whether we can get there.

Straight answers
Do you come to me, or do I bring the vehicle in?
Either. We run a workshop at 9 Railway Lane in Atherton and a fully equipped mobile service across the Tablelands. If your vehicle will not start or a machine is stuck in a paddock, it is usually faster and cheaper for us to come to you.
How much does an auto electrician cost in Atherton?
It depends on the fault, so we will not guess at it over the phone. What we will do is tell you what we find before we do the work, so there are no surprises. Fair pricing is the thing our customers mention most in their reviews.
Do you work on tractors and farm machinery?
Yes. Tractors, harvesters, headers, excavators and trucks. We repair machinery wiring and electrical faults, and we fit and service roof-mounted air conditioning units on farm machinery. We come out to the property.
Can you fit a dual battery system to my 4WD?
Yes. Dual battery systems, lithium setups, driving lights, light bars, UHF radios, trailer wiring and electric brake controllers. Everything is wired and fused properly so it holds up on corrugated roads.
My car air conditioning is not cold. Can you fix it?
Usually. Air con that has stopped cooling is normally a leak, a failed compressor or simply low gas. We leak test first rather than just regassing it, because a regas on a leaking system is money wasted.
What areas do you service?
Atherton and the surrounding Tablelands, including Tolga, Yungaburra, Kairi, Herberton, Walkamin and Malanda. We also travel to Mareeba, Ravenshoe, Millaa Millaa and Dimbulah. Give us a call if you are a bit further out.
Do you do mechanical work as well as auto electrical?
Yes. Being able to handle both means one call and one visit instead of chasing an auto electrician and a mechanic separately, which matters when the nearest alternative is a tow into town.
